For Shab-e-Barat and Holi, Delhi Police increases security and provides public advisories.

In advance of Shab-e-Baraat and Holi this week, the Delhi Police declared that it has taken substantial preparations for the security of drivers and pedestrians. They include preventing reckless driving and two-wheeler stunts, as well as guaranteeing efficient traffic flow.

For Shab-e-Baraat, which will be observed on the intervening night of March 7 and 8, more than 150 non-police company security employees, 800 traffic police officers, and 9,000 local police officers will be deployed, according to officials.

On Shab-e-Baraat, Muslims in the community attend prayers in mosques and at the graves of their ancestors. According to the police, there will be more than 600 picket lines and 1,300 motorcycle enforcement units deployed throughout the capital city. In addition, 283 important locations will get 759 traffic officers.

Because this year’s Shab-e-Baraat and Holi dates coincide, the Delhi Police advise stated that special traffic police teams, together with PCR and local police, will be stationed on several routes to look for drunk driving and traffic rule violations. It declared that excessive racing would also be observed using radar sensors. According to the advise, there would be special squads made up of 2,033 police officers stationed at 287 important intersections and 233 places where people are drunk and vulnerable during Holi.

The Delhi Traffic Police agency has set up sophisticated traffic controls to ensure the safety of motorists and pedestrians on the roads. The objective is to reduce the frequency of incidents involving drunk driving, excessive speeding, running red signals, teenage drivers, driving without a helmet, and doing tricks on two-wheelers.
