28×20 inches, 33×25 inches with frame.
Frame has some wear and peeling from age. Painting is in good condition.
Documentation on the back evidences (Stamped with seal, witnessed/signed and dated
and also initialed by Hugo himself that this painting was commissioned of him by
the State of Tuttlingen to be painted for the Honorable Mayor Otto Fink in gratitude
for Otto Fink’s dedication and service to the community during his term of service as
mayor from 1946-51.
Hugo as a known artist from Tuttlingen showed a pronounced interest and talent for painting at a young age.
He completed an artistic education and processed his time as a soldier in World War I in the form of drawings and poems. In May 2019, his early works were exhibited at the Fruchthaus in Tuttlingen.
